Kreskin, born George Kresge, hosted "The Amazing World of Kreskin" from 1972 to 1975 and "The New Kreskin Show" from 1975 to 1977. He was also a frequent guest on popular talk shows. In his 1991 book, Kreskin clarified that he was not a psychic or hypnotist, but a researcher in suggestion and perception. He was inspired to become a mentalist by the comic strip "Mandrake the Magician."
