Rep. Bresnahan pledges support for Tobyhanna Army Depot
U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan Jr. visited the Tobyhanna Army Depot on March 18 and pledged to support its future. He highlighted the importance of the depot in providing stable jobs for people in Northeast Pennsylvania. Bresnahan, a Republican from Dallas Township, emphasized the need for resources to keep the depot operational. He claims the workers there are essential for the U.S. military's readiness and for the local economy. "We are in constant communication with the Army and the Department of Defense," Bresnahan said. He stressed that maintaining the depot is a top priority as the nation addresses federal resource allocation. The Tobyhanna Army Depot provides critical support in communications and intelligence for military operations. The facility employs over 3,000 people. Colonel James L. Crocker, the depot's commander, thanked Bresnahan for his visit and interest. He reaffirmed the depot’s commitment to supporting the military. Ned George, president of AFGE Local 1647, also praised Bresnahan's understanding of the depot’s role in national security. George recognized the efforts of the depot's workforce to keep the military prepared.
