A fire broke out at an apartment complex in West Bloomfield on March 17, displacing several families. The blaze started around 5 p.m. at the Bloomfield On The Green Apartments. It originated in the attic and affected 12 units. Thanks to a watchful resident in a nearby building, the fire was reported early. The resident noticed smoke coming from the attic and alerted the management company. Fire Marshal Bryon Turnquist stated that when management checked, they discovered smoke and signs of fire in the walls. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The Red Cross is helping the families who lost their homes. Another nearby apartment complex has also offered vacant units for those in need of temporary shelter.
