Retailer sued for failing to deliver paid furniture
An Ohio retailer, Burke Décor, is facing a lawsuit after more than 350 customers claimed they paid for furniture that was never delivered. The total losses reported by these customers exceed $380,000. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has filed the lawsuit against Burke Décor and its owner, Erin Burke. He stated that many consumers experienced frustration after paying for high-end furnishings but received nothing in return. Yost pointed out that his office had previously given the company a chance to resolve the issues, but complaints still persisted. Burke Décor operates locations in Boardman and Los Angeles, along with an outlet in Youngstown and an online store. The Attorney General's Office started its investigation after multiple complaints about non-delivery and problems with refunds. While the company addressed some customer complaints, 256 cases remain unresolved. The lawsuit aims to secure restitution for the affected customers, stop any further fraudulent activities, and impose civil penalties. The Attorney General's Office encourages anyone who feels they have been misled to file a complaint with their Consumer Protection Section.
