Revenue inspector arrested for bribery in Supaul
A revenue inspector in Supaul district was arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000. The inspector, Vikas Kumar, was caught by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau on Wednesday at the Gudia panchayat office. The case began when Anupam Kumar filed a complaint. Anupam alleged that Vikas reduced the area of the land his father had purchased because he did not pay a bribe. When Anupam asked Vikas to correct this, he reportedly demanded Rs 10,000. After some negotiation, Vikas agreed to take Rs 5,000. Anupam then reported this to the authorities. A trap was set up, leading to Vikas's arrest while he was accepting the money.
