Rhino chases safari vehicles in India, tourists panic
Tourists in India experienced a frightening encounter with a charging rhino during a safari at Manas National Park on Sunday. The animal chased two safari trucks, trying to flip one of them over as the drivers sped away. Footage from the scene shows a large rhino running closely behind the vehicles. Some tourists stood up in the vehicle behind, watching in shock as the beast got dangerously close. The drivers accelerated down the muddy track, trying to escape the aggressive animal. At one point, the rhino attempted to strike the second truck by throwing its head to the side. Fortunately, the driver swerved just in time, allowing the group to escape unhurt. However, there was some damage to one of the trucks, raising concerns about safety in the park. Park officials are looking into why the rhino acted this way. They are considering whether it was due to territorial behavior, provocation, or something else. Authorities encourage tourists to follow park rules and keep a safe distance from wildlife to avoid similar incidents. This encounter comes after another scary incident in 2019, when a lion chased a safari vehicle in a different part of India. No one was injured in that case either, but it highlights the risks of wildlife interactions.
