Richard Mille and Ferrari unveil RM 43-01 watch

Richard Mille and Ferrari have launched their second collaborative watch, the RM 43-01 Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph. Priced starting at nearly S$2 million, the watch is designed for both luxury and performance. This new model follows the ultra-thin UP-01 Ferrari, which set a world record in 2022 for being the thinnest watch. The RM 43-01 does not aim to break records but instead showcases a complex high-complication format ideal for automotive enthusiasts. It features a split-seconds chronograph that can measure lap times at a racetrack. The watch was revealed in Paris at an exclusive event. Former Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa attended and shared his experiences with Richard Mille watches. The RM 43-01 comes in two limited versions: one in microblasted titanium and another in full carbon TPT. There are only 75 pieces of each version available. Both versions feature Ferrari colors, with the titanium showcasing red accents and the carbon version featuring yellow. The design reflects both Richard Mille's signature style and Ferrari’s racing heritage, influenced by Ferrari’s design center in Italy. The RM 43-01 is not only visually striking but also technically advanced. It contains 514 components and was developed over three years. The watch includes a titanium plate engraved with Ferrari's logo, linking it to the brand's successful 499P race car. This new timepiece is expensive, with pricing at about S$1.96 million for titanium and S$2.3 million for carbon TPT. Notably, you don't have to be a Ferrari owner to purchase one. The watch has received approval from Ferrari's current drivers, including Lewis Hamilton, who has joined Ferrari for the 2025 season. Richard Mille plans to continue the collaboration with Ferrari for another five years, hinting at future releases every 18 to 24 months. The partnership aims to innovate and excite fans of luxury watches and automotive design without solely focusing on record-breaking achievements.
