Ricky Ponting reveals Shreyas Iyer missed his call before IPL auction as PBKS signs him for 26.75 crore

Punjab Kings (PBKS) head coach Ricky Ponting revealed that Shreyas Iyer did not answer his call before the IPL mega-auction. PBKS acquired Iyer for Rs 26.75 crore, making him one of the most expensive players in IPL history. Iyer entered the auction with a base price of Rs 2 crore. He was previously pursued by Kolkata Knight Riders but they withdrew at Rs 10 crore. Iyer recently scored 130 runs in a match for Mumbai. Ponting expressed excitement about working with Iyer again, noting his successful captaincy in the IPL. He has not yet discussed the captaincy role with Iyer.
