Sherika Dennard has created a popular chicken restaurant in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her eatery, Rika's Chicken and More, opened about 18 months ago. It specializes in fresh-to-order wings, tenders, and fish. Dennard believes her chicken is the best in town, a claim supported by her loyal customers. From a young age, Dennard loved cooking. She learned to perfect her mother’s recipes and began making meals for her siblings when she was only seven. After trying her hand at running a short-lived chicken spot in 2012, she later participated in pop-up shops before officially opening Rika's Chicken. Dennard emphasizes that her chicken is made fresh daily. She uses a special blend of nine secret seasonings, though she won’t reveal the exact ingredients. Her menu offers a variety of options. Whole wings, thighs, and tenders are priced at $2 each, while wing dings cost $1. Alternatives like perch, catfish nuggets, and shrimp are also available. Fried sides, such as French fries and onion rings, are popular as well. On Sundays, customers can enjoy soul food classics like mac n' cheese and spicy cabbage. Rika's Chicken also features $1 wings on Wednesdays and daily meal deals for $8. The restaurant has specific hours, opening from noon to 10 p.m. on weekdays and later on weekends.
