Ring of fire solar eclipse to illuminate South America and Pacific on Wednesday
A "ring of fire" solar eclipse will occur on Wednesday, visible mainly over Easter Island and parts of Argentina and Chile. This type of eclipse happens when the moon covers most of the sun, leaving a ring visible. A partial solar eclipse will also be seen in Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Hawaii. This event follows an April total eclipse that was visible in parts of Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. To safely view the eclipse, special solar eclipse glasses are recommended. Regular sunglasses are not safe. Alternative viewing methods include using a pinhole projector or observing shadows under a tree.
