Rishabh Pant sets IPL auction record with INR 27 crore sale

Rishabh Pant has become the most expensive player in IPL auction history, sold for INR 27 crore to Lucknow Super Giants. This surpasses Shreyas Iyer's previous record of INR 26.75 crore, set just minutes earlier. The bidding for Pant involved Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, with Sunrisers Hyderabad joining later. Lucknow's final bid of INR 27 crore ended the competition after Delhi Capitals dropped out. In other auction news, Punjab Kings used their Right-To-Match card to retain Arshdeep Singh, who was initially bid up to INR 18 crore by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kagiso Rabada was acquired by Gujarat Titans for INR 10.75 crore.
