Rishabh Pant sets IPL record with ₹27 crore sale while Shreyas Iyer follows at ₹26.75 crore

Rishabh Pant has become the most expensive player in IPL history, sold for ₹27 crore to Lucknow Super Giants. This record was set shortly after Shreyas Iyer was bought for ₹26.75 crore by Punjab Kings. Iyer's purchase briefly broke the previous record held by Mitchell Starc, who was sold for ₹24.75 crore in the last auction. Starc was sold this year for ₹11.75 crore to Delhi Capitals. Other notable purchases include Arshdeep Singh, who was bought for ₹18 crore by Punjab Kings, and Kagiso Rabada, sold to Gujarat Titans for ₹10.75 crore. This auction is the second held outside India.
