Rizal police seize P490,000 shabu from traffickers

In Rizal, police arrested two suspected drug traffickers during separate operations on March 21 and 22. The arrests led to the seizure of shabu, also known as crystal meth, valued at more than P490,000. The first suspect, identified as "Mayeth," was caught in San Mateo at around 8:50 p.m. He was apprehended after selling P500 worth of shabu to an undercover officer. Police seized three plastic sachets and another plastic bag containing a total of 51.5 grams of shabu, valued at approximately P350,200. Authorities also took Mayeth's mobile phone for investigation. Mayeth has been labeled as a high-value individual (HVI) in the local drug trade. This classification includes key figures like traffickers and manufacturers of illegal drugs. In another operation in Tanay, police arrested a second suspect known as "Dagul" around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday. This individual was found with three sachets of shabu weighing 21 grams, worth about P142,800. Authorities are continuing their investigation to find the source of the seized drugs. Both suspects are now in custody and face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
