Robben shines as Bayern Munich wins Beckenbauer Cup
Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry played together again at the Beckenbauer Cup, nearly six years after they left FC Bayern. The event took place during the club's 125th-anniversary celebrations. The tournament was held at the SAP Arena in Munich in front of 9,500 fans. Many legendary teams joined, including Borussia Dortmund, VfB Stuttgart, AC Milan, Ajax, and Real Madrid. The excitement between Robben and Ribéry was clear during warm-ups as they stepped onto the field together once more. On the pitch, the pair showcased their skills, reminiscent of their time in the Bundesliga from 2010 to 2019. In the semifinals, Borussia Dortmund faced Bayern and had a tough time, recalling their past disappointment in the 2013 finals. In the final match, Bayern Munich won decisively against Real Madrid, finishing with a score of 4-0. Robben earned the MVP award of the tournament, while Kevin Großkreutz was the top scorer for the evening.
