Robbers stole 912 liquor bottles in Tamil Nadu

On March 19, a truck carrying liquor bottles was robbed in Sivaganga district. The truck driver, Selvaraj, reported that 912 bottles worth over ₹1.25 lakh were stolen as he approached a check post. After discovering the theft, Selvaraj quickly contacted the police. However, they refused to file a complaint. Following their advice, he went to a different police station in Pudukottai, but they also rejected his complaint, saying the crime happened in Sivaganga. Concerned about the situation, Sivaganga Superintendent of Police Ashish Rawat asked Deputy Superintendent of Police Selva Kumar to investigate the matter. The DSP noted that CCTV footage from the area showed no signs of the robbery, but assured that a detailed investigation would continue. Selvaraj expressed his distress due to the incident. The truck was carrying 1,100 boxes containing a total of 52,800 bottles; 19 boxes with 912 bottles were reported missing. The protective tarpaulin covering the cargo was found torn.
