Director Robert Eggers has announced his upcoming werewolf film, titled "Werwulf," which he describes as the darkest script he has ever written. The movie is set in the 16th century and aims to present a unique portrayal of the creature. Eggers shared details during a Q&A session, revealing that the film will explore medieval themes. His cinematographer, Jarin Blaschke, hinted at a groundbreaking visual style for the werewolf that has not been seen before. In addition to "Werwulf," Eggers is also working on a sequel to "Labyrinth." He is collaborating with Icelandic poet Sjón, who co-wrote his previous film, "The Northman."
