He was recognized for his performances in Broadway productions like "Amadeus" and "Waiting for Godot," and received awards for his portrayal of Orson Welles. Born in San Diego, Machray studied at Yale and USC. He made his onscreen debut in 1977 and appeared in various films and television shows, including a notable series of commercials for M&Ms.
