Roborock launches Saros 10 with upgraded features

Roborock has launched its new flagship robot vacuum, the Saros 10, which replaces the previous S8 MaxV Ultra model. This change is part of Roborock's new naming strategy, moving from the S series to the Saros line. The Saros 10 offers significant upgrades compared to the S8 MaxV Ultra. One major difference is its ability to clear higher thresholds of up to 1.57 inches, thanks to a new AdaptiLift chassis. In contrast, the S8 MaxV Ultra can only manage thresholds of around 0.8 inches. This means the Saros 10 is less likely to get stuck on obstacles. Both models have automatic mop washing, drying, and detergent dispensing features. However, the Saros 10 has a new retractable design for its LiDAR sensor, making it much slimmer. This allows it to reach areas that the S8 MaxV Ultra cannot. The vacuum also boasts more suction power, with 22,000Pa compared to the S8 MaxV Ultra's 10,000Pa. Additionally, the Saros 10 operates more quietly at 64dB versus 67dB. The battery capacity is larger, giving it a runtime of 220 minutes in quiet mode, although it is limited to cleaning areas of up to 240 square meters. Despite these improvements, the Saros 10 has a smaller water tank than the S8 MaxV Ultra, which affects its mopping capability. As a result, potential buyers should consider their specific needs before choosing between the two models.
