Rocket Lab completes Kinéis' satellite constellation launch
Rocket Lab has completed a crucial mission by launching the last five satellites for Kinéis' "Internet of Things" (IoT) constellation. This launch, named "High Five," occurred on March 17 from New Zealand. The Electron rocket successfully placed the satellites into a 404-mile orbit, finalizing a network of 25 satellites. The completion of this satellite network enhances global connectivity. It allows for real-time data transmission, which is essential for industries like maritime tracking and environmental monitoring. This mission marks Rocket Lab's fourth successful launch in 2025, showcasing the company’s increasing operational activity. The "High Five" mission represents the culmination of Kinéis' satellite network. The earlier satellites were launched in multiple phases throughout 2024 and early 2025. With this final deployment, the system is now capable of connecting remote objects worldwide, improving data transfer and decision-making processes across various sectors. As noted by Rocket Lab, the Kinéis network aims to provide better satellite-based IoT services. These services will support industries that depend on reliable data transmission, especially in hard-to-reach areas. Rocket Lab has been busy, with this launch being its fourth this year. A recent launch on March 14 involved a radar satellite for a Japanese company, continuing the trend of increased launch activity.
