Rockies finish Cactus League with 17-14-1 record
In their final spring training game, the Colorado Rockies lost to the Milwaukee Brewers, 4-2. Right-hander Ryan Feltner pitched well enough but allowed two runs on six hits over five innings. He struck out four and issued two walks, finishing the spring with a 6.14 ERA. Jimmy Herget, another right-handed pitcher, had a strong performance as a reliever. He struck out two batters in one inning, bringing his ERA down to 2.92. Bradley Blalock also performed well, ending his spring with a 1.02 ERA after pitching a scoreless inning. At the plate, the Rockies struggled, getting only five hits. Jordan Beck stood out by going 2 for 2, improving his batting average to .234. Sam Hilliard, however, had a tough day, striking out twice and finishing the spring with a batting average of only .120. Designated hitter Kris Bryant played sparingly and went 0 for 2, ending the spring with a .133 average, including one home run. The Rockies finished the Cactus League with a record of 17 wins, 14 losses, and 1 tie. Looking ahead, the Rockies will face the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday at 11:10 a.m. MDT. Several pitchers are scheduled to take the mound, including German Marquez and Angel Chivilli.
