Roots and Blues festival highlights Canadian artists lineup

The Roots and Blues festival in Salmon Arm is set to feature a lineup focused on classic Canadian artists this year. The event will take place from July 25 to 27. Artistic director Kevin Tobin expressed excitement about having Burton Cummings as the headliner for Saturday night. He called Cummings one of the greatest voices in Canadian rock history. Cummings is well-known as the lead singer of The Guess Who, which had huge hits like "American Woman" and "These Eyes." Los Lobos will perform on Friday night, bringing their famous sound, including the hit "La Bamba." Tobin noted their influence on rock and various musical styles over the years. Colin James will wrap up the festival on Sunday night. Tobin mentioned that with changes in the Canadian dollar's value, they had to be smart and careful with the festival's budget. Besides the main acts, attendees can expect a diverse range of music from all over the world, including performances by Indigenous artists on the Plulk’w Place stage.
