Route 177 bridge near Gifford Pinchot reopens
A bridge near Gifford Pinchot State Park in northern York County has reopened after being closed for six months. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced the reopening of the Route 177 bridge over Beaver Creek and Pinchot Lake in Warrington Township. The bridge closed in September 2024 for rehabilitation work. Crews replaced the bridge beams, deck, and barriers during the repairs. A detour route using Route 74 and Alpine Road is no longer needed. Doli Construction Corp. from Chalfont, Pennsylvania, completed the project. The total cost for the repairs was nearly $1.5 million, according to PennDOT.
