Royal Navy officer found not guilty of sexual assault in Florida case

Royal Navy officer Lieutenant Liam Humphries has been found not guilty of sexually assaulting a female colleague at an Airbnb in Florida. The incident allegedly occurred while the HMS Prince of Wales was docked nearby. The court martial at Bulford Military Court concluded after five days of testimony. The female sailor claimed she was unconscious during the alleged assault, while Lt Humphries maintained that their encounter was consensual. The case arose after the two met at a nightclub in Daytona Beach. The court heard that the woman believed she had been drugged, but tests showed no evidence of this.
