RSS criticizes honoring Aurangzeb as against India's values

RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale addressed ongoing controversy surrounding historical figures like Aurangzeb. He firmly stated that honoring such figures goes against India's core values. Hosabale highlighted that those with an "invader mindset" pose a threat to the country. During a recent event, he questioned whether India should celebrate individuals who opposed its ethos. He referred to past changes, like the renaming of Aurangzeb Road in Delhi to Abdul Kalam Road, suggesting there was a reason for these decisions. Hosabale emphasized the importance of recognizing figures who fought for India, like Maharana Pratap, and noted that historical struggles against previous rulers should also be considered freedom movements. He asserted that the Ram Temple in Ayodhya represents a victory for society as a whole, not just the RSS. He clarified that the RSS's stance is not based on religion, but rather on national identity and values. Hosabale also mentioned that religion-based reservations are not aligned with the Constitution created by B.R. Ambedkar.
