RSS leader's Iftar party video misrepresented Nagpur violence
A viral video has been incorrectly linked to recent violence in Nagpur, Maharashtra, involving RSS leader Indresh Kumar. The video is being shared on social media, suggesting that Kumar was at an Iftar party when the violence began. However, this claim is false. The Iftar party actually took place at the Community Centre in Nizamuddin, Delhi. It was held on March 15, two days before the unrest in Nagpur on March 17. During the Nagpur protest, members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad demanded the removal of a tomb associated with Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Protesters set fire to an effigy of Aurangzeb as part of the demonstration. Evidence shows Indresh Kumar shared images from the Iftar event on his social media. A video of the party was also reported by a news agency on March 16. In summary, the claim linking Kumar to the Nagpur violence is inaccurate.
