RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat opened a three-day meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) on March 21, 2025. This meeting is the main decision-making event for the RSS. It will focus on the ongoing situation in Manipur and the perceived North-South divide in India. RSS joint secretary C R Mukunda explained that the meeting will deal with pressing issues. He mentioned that representatives from 32 affiliated organizations are attending. Mukunda noted that Manipur has faced difficulties for the past 20 months, but he sees some hope due to government proposals that might help the situation. He emphasized that improving the harmony in Manipur will take time. He expressed concern about challenges to national unity, particularly regarding the North-South divide, which he linked to issues like delimitation and language debates. Mukunda also highlighted that RSS volunteers are working to promote unity, especially in troubled states. He added that the organization has grown significantly in the past year, with more than 83,000 active branches now, an increase of over 10,000 since last year.
