Ruby Ruiz, Khalil Ramos win top awards at CinePanalo

Ruby Ruiz and Khalil Ramos won the top acting awards at the CinePanalo Film Festival 2025. The event took place on March 19 in Quezon City. Ruiz was named Best Actress for her role in "Tigkiliwi," a Hiligaynon film. "Tigkiliwi" also won several other awards, including Best Screenplay and the Jury Prize. Jeffrey Jiruma received the award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the same film. Khalil Ramos shared the Best Actor award with JP Larroder, who starred in "Tigkiliwi." The festival had some unusual ties. There was also a tie for Best Cinematography between "Journeyman" and "Olsen's Day." JP Habac was awarded Best Director for "Olsen's Day." The top films of the festival included "Salum" for the full-length category and "Champ Green" for student shorts. The Festival Director mentioned it was challenging to decide on the Best Actor award, reflecting the high level of competition.
