Ruffy and the Riverside launches June 2025

A new 3D platformer called Ruffy and the Riverside is generating excitement among gamers. This game takes inspiration from classic titles like Banjo-Kazooie, Crash Bandicoot, and Super Mario Odyssey, as well as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The game's art director, Patrick Ruckdeschel, shared details during a presentation at the Future Games Show. He mentioned that their main influence was Paper Mario. The unique papercraft design allows the main character, Ruffy, to use various textures from the game world. For example, players can collect an ice texture and freeze water to reach new areas. While they admire these classic games, the developers emphasize that Ruffy and the Riverside aims to create its own experience rather than simply copy the others. The game is set to appeal to fans of well-loved franchises. Ruffy and the Riverside is expected to launch in June for multiple platforms, including PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. Though a specific release date has not been announced, fans don't have to wait long to explore Ruffy’s adventure.
