Rupal Chaudhary wins women's 400m gold at Indian Open

Rupal Chaudhary from Uttar Pradesh won the gold medal in the women's 400m race at the Sixth Indian Open 400m competition in Thiruvananthapuram. She completed the race in 52.41 seconds, showing a strong performance. This was a promising start to her season, as she overcame past injuries to achieve this victory. In the race, Rupal outpaced Vithya Ramraj from Tamil Nadu, who had initially set the pace but finished with a silver medal in 53.62 seconds. K. Sneha from Kerala took home the bronze by finishing in 54.09 seconds. The men's 400m title went to T.S. Manu from Kerala. He recorded his personal best time of 46.51 seconds to secure the gold medal. Manu had earlier completed the preliminary heats in 46.56 seconds, showcasing his speed throughout the event. The final race was closely contested between Manu and Jay Kumar from Delhi. Manu managed to pull ahead in the last 20 meters to win. Kumar finished with a time of 46.93 seconds, while his teammate Tushar Kanti Manna came in third at 47 seconds. In youth events, M. Sharan from Tamil Nadu won the boys under-20 race with a time of 47.19 seconds. Mohammed Ashfaq from Kerala took first place in the under-18 race, finishing in 47.49 seconds. There were also wins for V. Deshika in the girls under-20 event and Kashish Bhagat in the under-18 category.
