Russia and Ukraine blame each other for attacks
Russia and Ukraine are accusing each other of attempting cross-border attacks. Both nations claim their forces successfully stopped these incursions. Russia's Defence Ministry reported that its troops thwarted five Ukrainian attempts to enter the Belgorod region. They suggested these attacks aimed to disrupt peace talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump. On the other hand, Ukraine's military stated it stopped all efforts by Russian forces to gain a foothold in the Sumy region. Tensions between the two countries remain high, with each side asserting control over its territory. In the past, Ukraine launched a significant attack into the Kursk region, but Russia has since regained much of that area. Recently, Russian forces have been increasing their assaults on the Sumy region, signaling an escalation in the ongoing conflict.
