Russia launches deadly missile and drone attack on Ukraine's infrastructure
A Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine's infrastructure killed eight people, including two children, in Sumy. This strike is part of a larger assault involving 120 missiles and 90 drones, marking one of the most intense attacks in recent months. In response, President Biden authorized the use of US-supplied long-range missiles by Ukraine to target inside Russia. This decision follows Ukraine's military actions in the Kursk region and aims to bolster Ukraine's defense capabilities. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 144 of 210 aerial threats, but damage occurred to energy infrastructure across the country. Explosions were reported in multiple regions, including Kyiv and Odesa, as Russian forces targeted critical energy facilities.
