Russia launches intercontinental ballistic missile at Ukraine for first time
Russia has launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) at Ukraine for the first time since its invasion in 2022. This action follows Ukraine's recent strikes using US-made Atacms and British Storm Shadows on Russian territory. The missile attack targeted the southern city of Dnipro and included seven Kh-101 cruise missiles. Ukrainian air defense intercepted six of the missiles, and the ICBM was reportedly fired from Russia's Astrakhan region. No nuclear warhead was on the ICBM, but its long range exceeds that of Ukraine's recent missiles. Local authorities reported two injuries from the attack.
