Russia offers debt forgiveness to army recruits as missile strikes Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law offering debt forgiveness to new army recruits who enlist to fight in Ukraine. This law allows recruits to write off debts up to 10 million rubles, highlighting Russia's need for military personnel. The recruitment drive comes as Russia fired a new intermediate-range ballistic missile at Ukraine. The missile, named Oreshnik, struck a factory in Dnipro, marking the first time such missile fragments have been found in Ukraine. In recent military actions, Ukraine reported over 800 guided bombs and numerous drones used against them by Russian forces. Meanwhile, Russia claimed to have shot down 34 Ukrainian drones in its western regions.
