Russia offers debt relief to new army recruits as missile debris found in Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law offering debt forgiveness to new army recruits who enlist to fight in Ukraine. This law allows recruits to write off bad debts up to 10 million rubles ($96,000) and applies to their spouses as well. The move highlights Russia's ongoing need for military personnel amid the nearly three-year conflict. It follows a recent missile launch by Russia, which fired a new intermediate-range ballistic missile at Ukraine, marking a significant escalation in military activity. In Ukraine, fragments of the missile were discovered in Dnipro, marking the first time such debris has been found in the country. The missile, capable of carrying conventional or nuclear warheads, was launched from a test range in Russia and flew for 15 minutes before impact.
