Russia plans covert trade with India for war electronics

Leaked documents reveal Russia's covert plan to spend approximately Rs82 billion ($1 billion) on sensitive electronics from India to support its war effort in Ukraine. The initiative, initiated in October 2022, aims to utilize rupees from oil sales to acquire dual-use technologies, circumventing Western sanctions. Total trade between Russia and India reached a record $66 billion in the 2023-24 financial year, significantly increasing post-invasion.
