Russia resumes missile strikes on Kyiv after two-month pause
Russia has resumed missile strikes on Kyiv after a two-month pause, launching attacks on the capital and a northeastern border area. The Ukrainian air force reported tracking 96 aerial targets, including missiles and drones, during the assault. Four missiles targeted Kyiv, while two short-range missiles were fired into the northeastern region. This marks the end of a 73-day break in missile attacks on the capital, which had previously faced numerous drone strikes. The renewed bombardment coincides with intensified fighting in eastern Ukraine, particularly in the Donetsk region. Analysts had suggested that Russia was stockpiling missiles for winter attacks, as the first snowstorm hit central Ukraine on the same day.
