Russia threatens retaliation for Ukrainian energy attacks

Russia's Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that it may respond in kind to Ukrainian attacks on its energy facilities. This statement comes amid ongoing tensions in the region. Recently, Russia and Ukraine each accused the other of damaging a Russian gas pumping station near their border. This area has seen conflict as Ukrainian troops are withdrawing. Throughout the ongoing three-year conflict, both countries have targeted each other's energy infrastructure. Russia has frequently attacked Ukraine's energy resources, while Ukraine has carried out strikes on energy facilities in Russia. The Russian ministry warned that such actions are meant to disrupt peace talks. They stated that if Ukraine continues what they call a "destructive line," Russia will consider taking appropriate measures, including a symmetrical response.
