Russia to continue hypersonic missile tests in combat, Putin announces
Russia plans to continue testing its new hypersonic missile, the Oreshnik, in combat conditions, according to President Vladimir Putin. This follows its first use in Ukraine, which Putin claims was a response to Ukraine's attacks using Western missiles. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that Ukraine is collaborating with Western partners to develop air defense systems to counter these new threats. He described Russia's missile use as an escalation and an international crime. The Oreshnik missile can reach speeds over 13,000 km/h and is designed to carry multiple warheads. Putin claimed it cannot be intercepted and emphasized the need for ongoing tests and production of this missile system.
