Russian missile and drone attack kills nine in Ukraine
On Sunday, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, firing 120 missiles and nearly 100 drones, resulting in at least nine civilian deaths. This marks one of the most significant assaults in months, affecting multiple regions including Mykolaiv, Lviv, and Odesa. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the strikes as a "massive attack," with officials reporting extensive power outages across the country. The Ukrainian air force claimed to have intercepted 144 incoming threats during the assault. In response to the attack, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reaffirmed support for Ukraine, stating that no decisions regarding the war would be made without Kyiv's involvement. Meanwhile, NATO-member Poland heightened its military readiness following the strikes near its border.
