Ryan Kelly leaves Colts to join Minnesota Vikings
Ryan Kelly, the former center for the Indianapolis Colts, has made the decision to join the Minnesota Vikings as a free agent this offseason. His departure was recognized by Colts owner Jim Irsay, who expressed gratitude for Kelly's contributions to the team. Kelly played nine seasons with the Colts and was selected to four Pro Bowls. He mentioned in a recent press conference that he had always imagined staying with one team throughout his career. However, as he approached the end of his contract, he felt it was time to explore new opportunities. "There was no major event that made me leave," Kelly said. "I just knew it was time to move on." He has been contemplating this change for about a year and a half. Although he will miss his teammates, especially in the offensive line, he believes a fresh perspective is necessary. During his career in Indianapolis, Kelly snapped the ball to 13 different quarterbacks. Moving forward, he hopes to have a stable connection with just one quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, in Minnesota.
