A man from the Sacramento area has been sentenced to 36 years to life in prison for three sexual assaults. Nabil Elomari, 26, was convicted of the crimes that occurred in 2022. The assaults took place along Highway 99 near south Sacramento. Elomari was found guilty of sodomy by force and two counts of rape by force on January 22. He tricked women into getting into his car before attacking them. The first victim was assaulted outside her friend’s house in October 2022. After offering her a ride home, he drove her to a secluded spot where he raped her. The second victim encountered Elomari in downtown Sacramento in November. He invited her into his car to warm up and then assaulted her in an isolated area. A police officer responded to her 911 call. In December, investigators connected the assaults after seeing Elomari's car near the scene of another attack. DNA evidence later confirmed his involvement. Elomari was arrested at his home shortly after. Under California law, Elomari could be eligible for parole at age 50, which would be 24 years from now. This is significantly earlier than his 36-year-to-life sentence.
