Salem hosts 'Run For Drug Free Society' marathon

The ‘Run For Drug Free Society’ marathon took place on Sunday at Mahatma Gandhi Stadium in Salem. The event was launched by Tourism Minister R Rajendran. It was organized by the Salem Central Law College and Central Learning Campus in Yercaud. Participants could choose from various distances: 2km, 5km, 7km, and 10km. The event included separate categories for schools, colleges, and the public. Both male and female runners competed in their respective categories. Everyone who took part received medals and certificates for completing the race. The marathon concluded with a celebration, rewarding the winners for their performances. Salem MP TM Selvaganapathy, former MP S R Parthiban, and deputy commissioner of Salem city police Velmurugan presented cash prizes and trophies to them.
