Sam Curran joins Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2025 after 87% pay cut
Sam Curran has joined Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2025, taking an 87% pay cut to Rs 2.40 crore. His previous team, Punjab Kings, chose not to use their Right To Match card during the auction. Curran had played for Punjab Kings from 2019 to 2024 and was one of the highest-paid players in the 2023 auction, fetching Rs 18.50 crore. He debuted with Punjab in 2019 after being bought for Rs 7.2 crore. The IPL 2025 mega auction saw other players like Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer also securing high bids, but Curran's significant pay cut marks a notable change in his career earnings.
