Sam Curran returns to Chennai Super Kings for ₹2.4 crore after 87% pay cut at IPL 2025 Auction

At the IPL 2025 Auction in Jeddah, Chennai Super Kings reacquired Sam Curran for ₹2.4 crore, marking an 87% pay cut from his previous contract. Curran had played for CSK in 2020 and 2021. CSK also brought back Ravichandran Ashwin for nearly ₹10 crore and secured Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra for ₹6.25 crore and ₹4 crore, respectively. They added Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad for ₹10 crore. Rishabh Pant made headlines by signing with Lucknow Super Giants for a record ₹27 crore, becoming the most expensive player in IPL history. This surpassed Shreyas Iyer's deal with Punjab Kings for ₹26.75 crore.
