Sam Lalor gains attention after AFL debut incident
Richmond footballer Sam Lalor is gaining attention after a wardrobe malfunction during his AFL debut. Last week, he played impressively in Richmond’s comeback win over Carlton, recording 22 touches and scoring two goals. During one of his celebrations, Lalor's shorts slipped, leading to a revealing moment that went viral. He acknowledged the incident humorously on social media, posting an eggplant emoji along with a thank you to Richmond for the opportunity. Now, Lalor is in talks with Bonds, a well-known Australian clothing brand, for a potential sponsorship deal. Teammate Jack Ross confirmed that Bonds has reached out to Lalor following the incident. Despite the comparisons to AFL star Dustin Martin, Lalor remains modest. He believes he has a long way to go before reaching Martin's level, saying he would be happy to be half as good. As for his jersey number, Lalor is wearing No. 22 this year, as the No. 4, made famous by Martin, is being retired out of respect for the veteran player. Lalor said he will earn his place before considering any changes in the future. Richmond is preparing for their next game against Port Adelaide on Saturday. Lalor and his teammates are focused on building on their early success this season.
