Samsung expects smartphone shipments to rise in Q1 2025 with new Galaxy S25 series

Samsung Electronics expects smartphone shipments to rise in the first quarter of 2025, driven by demand for its new Galaxy S25 series. This follows a decline in shipments during the last quarter of 2024. In Q4 2024, Samsung's mobile revenue increased by 3.1% to KRW25.8 trillion, but operating profit fell by 22.2%. Smartphone shipments dropped 1.9% to 52 million units, while tablet shipments remained unchanged. The company anticipates a slight overall growth in the smartphone market for 2025, particularly in the mass market segment due to AI features in mid-range devices. Samsung's net profit rose 23.8% to KRW7.8 trillion for the full year.
