Samsung Galaxy S25 Series lacks support for key Android feature, report says
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Series lacks support for Android's Advanced Virtualization Framework (AVF), a key security feature required for running certain apps, including the new Android Linux Terminal app. This omission sets it apart from rival devices like the OnePlus 13. AVF, introduced in Android 13, allows devices to create secure virtual machines for running code safely. While Samsung's Knox solution offers similar protections, it does not provide the same capabilities as AVF, which could enable running full Linux operating systems. Currently, over 360 Android devices support AVF, but none are from Samsung. It remains unclear if Samsung will add AVF support in future updates, particularly with the anticipated launch of Android 16.
