Samsung introduces Live Notifications and Now Bar in One UI 7 for Galaxy S25

Samsung's One UI 7 update introduces "Live Notifications" and the "Now Bar," similar to Apple's Live Activities on iPhone. This feature will be available on the new Galaxy S25 series, enhancing app support, including Google Maps. The Now Bar displays information from supported apps on the lock screen, allowing users to see ongoing tasks without unlocking the device. Currently, it supports eight apps, including Google Maps, Samsung Health, and others. Google Maps will show navigation directions on the lock screen and in notifications. Samsung's features aim to fill a gap in Android's offerings, while Google is reportedly developing a similar feature for future Android versions.
