Samsung patents design for potential tri-fold phone with new screen technology

Samsung has revealed a patent for a potential tri-fold phone, showcasing a design that includes a new durable screen technology. This development follows the launch of the Huawei Mate XT, the first tri-fold phone, which is currently only available in China. The patent, filed in July 2021, features a unique barrier layer that reduces strain on the phone's hinges. While the patent's release does not guarantee a product launch, rumors suggest Samsung may introduce the tri-fold phone as early as next year. In addition to the tri-fold phone, Samsung is also expected to unveil a "Galaxy S25 Slim" next year, alongside other Galaxy S25 models.
