Samsung to launch Galaxy S25 Special Edition in January 2025

Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy S25 Special Edition at a Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2025. The production run will be three million units, significantly larger than the previous Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, but still a small fraction of expected S25 sales. The future of foldable phones remains uncertain. Samsung's goal of having 50% of its flagship devices as foldables by 2025 is unlikely to be met, as foldables currently represent less than 2% of the smartphone market. MediaTek has introduced the Dimensity 8400 processor, which features eight regular cores, challenging Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. This new chip claims a 41% increase in multi-core performance and a 44% reduction in peak power use.
